About Jahaila
Jahaila fell in love with belly dance in 2006 and has been dancing ever since. For over nine years Jahaila studied belly dance under Lebanese professional dancer Desmeen. She was a member of Desmeen's troupe, The Jewels of Araby, until the close of Desmeen's Jewett City studio in 2015. Jahaila has also danced with Marie Dumaine's troupe Shimmy Through Life, The Sisters of the Red Skye and has collaborated/choreographed with long-time area dancer Aria in the duo Shimmer. She continued dancing through the pandemic, taking online classes with professional RI dancer Inara. Jahaila has performed all over Eastern Connecticut from nursing homes and street fairs to the Coast Guard Academy and Dodd Stadium. She is excited to share her passion for Middle Eastern Dance and Desmeen's Lebanese belly dance style with you.

Come and let the swirling veils, rhythmic drums and finger cymbals take you away. Transcend your ordinary day-to-day life with a taste of the exotic and transform your body and spirit. In addition to learning belly dance moves, we will be playing finger cymbals, using veil techniques and learning choreography with performance opportunities.
